UK and Eire: Climate
As a human being, I seem to be of a sub-species that thrives only in temperate regions. With distinct seasons. My ideal ambient temperature is between ten and twenty-five degrees Celsius. (Fifty to seventy-seven degrees Fahrenheit).
However, I also enjoy temperatures down to minus two Celsius (28.4F), as experienced on a trip to Antarctica during the Southern Hemisphere's Summer. (I prefer to capitalise the initial letters of the seasons, since they are extremely important to me.)
High rainfall is also an integral pre-requisite for my sub-species. Cool breezes, rain showers, violent electrical thunderstorms, frost, mist (oh yes, mist!) interspersed with bright, cool, sunny days are what I relish. Heat, humidity and low rainfall are anathema to me in a very real way.
I have never been to the UK or Eire in Winter and everyone tells me it's miserable, but I'll believe it when (if ever) I see it. I *like* Winter. Meanwhile the UK in Spring is... heavenly.
