UK and Eire: Landscape
- The countryside of the UK & Eire is renowned for its scenery. A relatively small geographical area is host to a huge variety of beautiful landscapes, from rugged windswept moorland to serene lakes and leafy valleys.
Water is everywhere - reflecting the sky in lakes, ponds and tarns, or fast-flowing in rivers and streams. And the land itself is lusciously green! The UK's diversity is due to the complexity of underlying geological formations. (Little wonder the UK was the birthplace of William Smith, the father of modern geology.)
