Dear Cecelia,
Having just finished the Ill-Made Mute I thought I would have to wait a while for the second book, but my son found it newly in the bookstore Christmas Eve and he'd found his Dad's Christmas present! I was surprised it was available, having read it was to be available early next year. Are we first on the release list here in Australia? Lucky us, that doesn't happen often. By the way I loved the subtle Australian touches you wove into Ill-Made Mute. Will look forward to others. Have to go... I have a book to read. Keep writing!
Regards,
Neil

Dear Cecilia,
Hi again, it's Brayden. My mum told me that you would release the second book of the bitterbynde on the 1st of January (or was it the first week of January). That means I have to wait an entire 12 days!!! I don’t know whether I will be able to survive that long. If I'm going to have to wait 12 days for 'The Lady Of Sorrows' I might just have to read 'The Ill-made Mute' again.
As you probably already know I'm a big fan of yours and I've already read the first book three times. I even talked the school into getting two copies. Now five or six of my friends are hooked as well.
My life just doesn't seem the same if I'm not emersed in your story with Imrhien, Sianadh, and Thorn.
Once I get a copy of 'The Lady Of Sorrows' I would really love to get it signed by you. I also love your websight because last time I checked the links didn’t work properly. That was a while ago. Now it's fantastic. I even saw my first message in the guest book.
The reason I love your books so much is probably because of the way that you intricately wind the gargoyle faced Imrhien and Sianadh into a beautifully woven fantasy with the unknown always around the corner. The seelie and unseelie wights, the Shang unstorm and all of the lorraly creatures as well are so well described you can almost see them. All of these features and more turn this into a wonder to read. My favorite part of the story was the sildron mine and I can not help wondering what is going to happen next.
The start of the story was fantastic. As Imrhien didn't know anything it provided a great opportunity to explain every thing to the reader.
Wow, it looks like I'm running out of space and I really should be doing my homework. I hope I get to meet you and get you to sign 'The lady of sorrows' once I get it.
May inspiration be with you.
From your Number 1 fan, Brayden McLean.
PS. I stayed up until 12:30 at night composing the draft of this letter.
PPS. Can you release the third book sometime next year instead of in 2003. Please, I can wait 12 days for No. 2 but not 12 months for No. 3.

Your "Separated by Time " theme is so lovely that i cried while listening to.
For a moment it took me to a green and opened place on the hills where the cool air blow in my face in a sunny day, people were danciing and laughing and everything around me was colourfully charming as my great wish of this becoming true.
Sorry for any inconvenience but i couldn't help it.

Hi Cecilia
Just finished 'The Ill-made mute' and decided to write to tell you how much I enjoyed it. Being Irish and a gaelic speaker myself it's great to read a book with so much of my native language and folklore in it! A wonderful story, an enchanting read!
Books 2 and 3 are now on my 'to buy the instant they're published' list! Any word yet on a publication date for Lady of Sorrows?
Thank again for a great read,
Go raibh maith agat agus slán

I really really loved the ill-made mute. I couldn't put it down for one second.
The way that you write your books is unbelivable. I love the way that all the characters and objects seem to jump out of the book at the reader. Please please please release your next book soon because I'm just dying to know what happens in it!

Why did this magical world have to end? The
true magic here is how these old lores are woven into the familiar (albeit beloved)theme of the heroine, the hero and the quest to create a very
orginal story. The "shang wind" concept is brilliant. Since finishing the book I have spent hours researching trows, green-clad cow herds,
peg-legged jack and the others. I cannot get the trow-wife's song, or dance out of my mind. Where can I find out more about "The Boat of the Pale Warrior"?
Thank you for introducing me to these tales.
Hey! co Cuttie an'ho!co Cuttie,

I just finished The Ill-Made Mute and was delighted by the treat that it was.
So long have I searched for such a book that I thought I might die when I read that the next in the trilogy wasn't going to be out until April of the next year. Please GIVE US MORE!
All the best wishes and love
